Stay With God

Our 2026 Focus: Spiritual Formation

At ZOE Outreach Ministries, our focus for this season is simple, weighty, and deeply biblical: Stay With God.

This is more than a slogan. It is a call to remain with Christ, to be transformed in His presence, and to yield our lives to the ongoing work of spiritual formation. In a distracted and hurried age, God is calling His people back to nearness, surrender, and steady communion with Him.

When many turned away, Peter answered Jesus, “Lord, to whom will we go? You have the words of eternal life” (John 6:68–69). That is the heart of this focus. We are learning again that there is nowhere else to go that gives life, truth, and transformation like the presence of Jesus.

Why “Stay With God”?

To stay with God is to remain turned toward Him.

It is to keep returning our hearts to His presence.
It is to resist spiritual drift.
It is to choose surrender over self-rule, transformation over conformity, and communion over mere activity.

Scripture teaches that spiritual blindness remains wherever hearts are not turned toward the Lord. But when the heart turns, the veil is removed. And as we behold Him, we are transformed into His image from glory to glory by the Spirit of the Lord (2 Corinthians 3:14–18).

This is the work of spiritual formation: not merely learning information about God, but being changed by abiding in His presence.

The Pattern of Spiritual Formation

Our desire is not simply to attend church, gain language, or maintain religious activity. Our desire is to be formed in Christ.

Paul writes, “I am again suffering labor pains for you until Christ is formed in you” (Galatians 4:19). That is the burden of this season. We are making room for Christ to be formed in us—not just admired by us, referenced by us, or spoken about by us, but truly formed in us.

That kind of formation requires surrender.

Romans 12:1–2 calls us to present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, which is our true worship. It also calls us not to be conformed to this age, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. To stay with God means we place our whole selves before Him and allow Him to reshape how we think, live, discern, and respond.

What This Means for Us

This year, Stay With God means we are intentionally giving ourselves to:

  • prayer

  • spiritual formation

  • the renewing of the mind

  • deeper intimacy with God

  • yielded living

  • transformation into the image of Christ

  • communal formation, not just private devotion

We believe God is calling His people beyond surface Christianity and into a life of nearness, maturity, and inward transformation. He is not merely calling us to do more; He is calling us to remain with Him long enough to be changed.

Our Scriptural Foundation

John 6:68–69 reminds us that Jesus alone has the words of eternal life.
2 Corinthians 3:14–18 reveals that as we turn to the Lord and behold Him, we are transformed.
Galatians 4:19 shows that the goal is for Christ to be formed in us.
Romans 12:1–2 calls us to surrender fully and be transformed by the renewing of our minds.

Together, these scriptures frame our focus:

  • stay near Jesus

  • turn fully to the Lord

  • allow Christ to be formed within

  • yield to the transforming work of God
